Humanists of the Treasure Coast oppose burning of the Qur'an, we promote mutual respect.

Humanists of the Treasure Coast Inc, recognizes that the right to burn secular and religious books, or national flags is guaranteed under our constitution. As a matter of common courtesy, and out of a desire to promote a tranquil society we oppose such activities. While we find no evidence for the existence of the supernatural or the divine inspiration of books, we advocate a rational, respectful evaluation of all beliefs and their "sacred" books. Accordingly, we urge our fellow citizens to boycott the burning of the Quar'an scheduled by a Christian pastor in Florida this Saturday, and instead, set aside a minute of their time at Noon, on Saturday, September 11, for quiet reflection of the need to practice the Golden Rule of treating others as we would like them to treat us.
